The Langdale Owners' Club

Owning at Langdale

The Langdale Estate site between the villages of Chapel Stile and Elterwater in the heart of the Langdale valley, pretty much in the centre of the Lake District National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site. The location is ideal for enjoying the very best the area has to offer while the site is a haven of tranquillity and relaxation.

The Langdale estate is owned by Langdale Owners Plc and as the name suggests the shareholders are all timeshare owners. Established in the early 1980s by a partnership of local developers the business was then acquired by brewers Matthew Brown and then Scottish and Newcastle until in 1996 when the option became available to purchase again it was acquired by Langdale Owners Plc and around half of the ownership became shareholders.

Before timeshare development came to Langdale there was a range of basic holiday accommodation and before that the site was home to the Elterwater Gunpowder Works. If you are interested in the history of the site please see the following information.
